Matt Cobb

Biographical Sketch

Matt grew up in Seminole, OK. He had godly parents and an encouraging church in Seminole First Baptist Church. Both his parents and members of his church were used by God to give Matt a solid understanding of the gospel. Matt responded in faith to the gospel at his home in Seminole and was baptized shortly thereafter at Seminole First Baptist Church. He sensed God’s calling to service in ministry during high school and began to teach & serve as much as he could. He then went to Oklahoma Baptist University & during that time he served in local churches.

Matt grew up in Oklahoma, but spent 5 years in California. He continued his education in going to Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Master’s of Theological Studies. While in California, Matt was also blessed to meet his wife, Heather. They married on December 20, 2009 in Norco, CA.

Time in Ministry in Local Church: 9 years

Favorite Passage: Ephesians 2:1-10

Hobbies: Watching the Oklahoma Sooners play football & the New York Mets play baseball, listening to good music, going to the beach (hard to do in OK)…

Books You Would Recommend: 1. The God Who is There by D.A. Carson, 2. Knowing God by J.I. Packer, 3. It is Well: Expositions on Substitutionary Atonement by Mark Dever & Mark Lawrence
