Conner Goforth
StUDENTS
Conner grew up and experienced all of life’s big moments in South Oklahoma City. He was raised in a Christian home where he heard and experienced the gospel lived out by his parents. At the age of seven, Conner began to follow Jesus after he responded to the gospel message during a Sunday evening service where his grandfather preached a message over Ephesians 2:1-10. Conner met his wife Alyssa for the first time in the 7th grade at Brink Jr. High where he would say that he fell in love with her at first sight. During their junior year of high school at Southmoore, Alyssa invited Conner to a midweek service at Southern Hills Baptist Church. Since that service, SHBC became Conner’s church home. It’s the place that he and his wife got married in March of 2017. The Lord has given this couple two sweet boys, Jonah and Weston. SHBC is also the place that Conner surrendered his life to vocational ministry in July of 2018 and began being trained in ministry by the ministers and faithful church members of SHBC. Conner has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma. He spent the first several years of his professional life as a registered nurse in hospitals in the OKC metro area. Once he sensed a call to ministry, he began serving as student minister at FBC Washington, OK full time in October of 2019 and transitioned to part-time nursing. During this time he also completed his Master of Theological Studies degree from Southwestern Seminary. In 2023, the Lord called Conner, Alyssa and their two boys back to SHBC to serve as their minister to students. Conner has a passion to see students become followers of Jesus who are invested in the mission of the church: loving God and loving others.
