Welcome to Southern Hills – a place where every generation belongs and where we hold a special place for our senior adults. You are not merely welcomed; you are cherished, essential, and a vital part of our church family. Together, our mission is to continue encouraging and equipping the saints. Here are a few ways we aim to achieve this worthy task:
1. Small Group Bible Study
We firmly believe that Sunday School is one of our most important ministries and we encourage every member to be a part of a small group where God’s Word is taught, fellowship thrives, we learn to pray for one another, and understand how to better meet both physical and spiritual needs. Joining a small group is the ideal way for you to connect and actively be a part of Southern Hills!
2. 2nd Thursday Fellowships
These monthly gatherings are designed for quality time together. All are invited to join us for a delightful meal, engaging programs, and warm fellowship. These fellowships include Hymn Sings, Ladies Tea, Friendsgiving, and Christmas Brunch. They are perfect for both guests and members alike! RSVPs are due the Monday before each event.
3. Homebound Ministry
Our dedicated Homebound Ministry Team embodies Jesus’ compassion and care for those who aren’t able to physically engage in the ministries of the church like they once did. They do this by ministering in ways that are spiritual, practical, and consistent. 4. Jubilee Choir
Do you love to sing? If so, this group is for you! They spread joy together as they lead others in worshiping through song. They often travel and have been to places like the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. and the International Mission Board in Richmond, VA. They also frequent local veterans centers, area churches, and senior adult living centers. Join us for rehearsal Wednesday afternoons at 3:30!
5. Game Day
Who doesn’t like friendly competition?! We come together every 1st and 3rd Thursday for fellowship over card games, board games, and dominoes. You’re invited to bring a friend, a favorite game, and a snack to share. We will provide the drinks.
