“Here Is Jesus” - Dr. Doug Melton

 Luke 24:13-27

 The risen Savior draws near to you to show you who He is and to move you from despair to hope.

1. “That very day … “ — Jesus cares for the unknown and the little known.

 The opportunity to talk with one or two is just as important as the opportunity to talk with five hundred.

2. “Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.“ — Jesus desires close fellowship with you and won’t settle for anything less.

“I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.“ Revelation 3:15-16

3. “But their eyes were kept from recognizing Him.” — Jesus moved them from dependence on His physical presence to dependence on His Word.

 • Talk about current events while remembering that the death and resurrection of Jesus is always a current event.

 “If we never talk of Christ, we have great reason to suspect whether He is really in our hearts at all.“
