Sunday Morning 10:00am Service
“Seeing the Crowds”
Matthew 4:23-25
Point One - Notice the connection between physical and spiritual needs.
Understand Jesus’ ministry involved meeting both physical and spiritual needs
View people as both physical and spiritual
Two misconceptions:
Giving a cup of water in Jesus’ name has no spiritual impact.
Leading a person to Christ has no physical impact.
May the Lord use us to meet both physical and spiritual needs with the ultimate mission of making a disciple for Christ.
Point Two - Heed the call to commitment
“So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood, see to it yourselves.’ And all the people answered, ‘His blood be on us and on our children!’ Then he released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered Him to be crucified.“
Matthew 27:24-26
“And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.“ Matthew 7:28–29
